For each week of the NFL regular season, we compared the total Google searches for each team in different regions across the United States. Each color represents the team with the most searches in that region. This map illustrates American's interest in the teams they support or want to learn more about.

Google processes billions of searches each month. When looking for information about a team, people don’t just search for team names. They search for team schedules, players, coaches, and other related terms. Using Google’s entity classification system, all searches related to one “entity” are classified and measured. For example, a search for Andrew Luck or Colts Schedule would be scored as a search about the Indianapolis Colts. However, a search for Colt 45 would not be.
