Support & Growth role definition
Current role owner: AJ
Purpose
This role accelerates growth of members of the science team, by:
- Collating the team’s skills and broadcasting them (both internally and externally). Everyone should be aware of their own skills, and those of others.
- Identifying individual growth pathways and supporting team members through the process of role creation, development plans. Helping answer the questions: Where am I? Where am I going? How do I get there?
- Advocating behaviours and promoting opportunities that a) support the growth of team members, and b) unblock them in their daily work.
Responsibilities

Ensure that Sci Team members are aware themselves and ther rest of the team, in terms of skills and domain expertise.

Ensure that team members can grow technically and professionally.

That team members can fulfil their work and are not blocked by facilitating mechanisms for support.

Ensure that emerging & existing roles within the Science team are well defined and maintained, with adequate decision rights defined to allow them to achieve their purpose rapidly.

Facilitate the creation of new initiatives, assign roles to them, and accelerate their impact.

Begin Project Pairing & Rotation Initiative
- Assess projects, coordinate with Capacity
- Coordinate pairs & facilitate roles
- Check-ins can be done in sciteam meetings

Create growth framework for science
- Round of check-ins as everyone finishes their reviews w/ exec team. Gather feedback and make sure that everyone feels they have a realistic, actionable plan to grow at Vizz.
- Orchestrate the creation of a broad competency taxonomy using skill survey and with input from the team
- Create growth plan template and personal growth plans with each team member
- Summarise feedback and share with team

Define streamlined process for Initiative Lead creation process (when the next opportunity arises)
